Bespoke shirt pattern

The Bespoke Process

Each shirt is made personally by Sean O’Flynn and a small team of expert craftspeople; including his son Edward O’Flynn. Unlike most tailors practising in Mayfair today, at Sean O’Flynn Bespoke Shirtmaker the entire garment is constructed on site, on Savile Row. No part of the production process is outsourced to overseas workshops. This allows Sean to be intimately involved in every step of the garments’ fashioning and ensure the highest quality is maintained.

Consultation

The bespoke process starts with an in-person consultation with Sean O’Flynn. Here Sean will measure you, discuss style, fit, fabrics, cuffs and collar types.

Pattern

Taking into account the personal preferences discussed in your consultation, Sean will then hand draft your unique pattern. This will include separate collar, cuff and body patterns. Drafting by hand, as appose to using computer generated patterns, gives Sean complete control over the paper design. This enables him to adjust the nuances and subtleties required to create a perfect fit for your shirt.

Sample shirt

In order to test this pattern a sample shirt will first be made. Sean’s pattern will be handed to his son, Edward O’Flynn, who will cut the shirt’s separate components in a plain white Egyptian cotton. The cut cloth is then expertly sewn together and the sample shirt is complete. Once the sample shirt has been worn and laundered by the customer, if needed, Sean will then make any necessary amendments to your pattern to ensure a flawless fit.

Future orders

Once Sean has made your sample shirt and perfected your pattern it is then possible to order further garments. Orders can be made in-store or via telephone or email consultations. As your pattern will be stored indefinitely it is not necessary to re-visit to make future orders. International shipping is available for all garments.
